The Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor (WCNYH) was established in 1953 by the state of New York pursuant to P.L. 1953, c.882 (NY Unconsol. Ch.307, s.1) and by the state of New Jersey pursuant to P.L.1953, c.202 (C.32:23‐1 et seq.).  The bi-state commission worked to break the cycle of corruption in the Port of New York-New Jersey and effectuated transformative changes on the waterfront until its dissolution in 2023.
